With thousands of kilometers of coastline lit up by the transparency of the sea, secluded beaches and coves protected by the mountains behind them, it’s easy to understand how Corsica became known as “the island of beauty.” Over a span of 10 days, you will experience the perfect mix of sailing, swimming, exploring the wonderful ports and major cities of Corsica that hold an interesting mix of historical significance along with an abundant Mediterranean menu to tie it all together.
In brief:
Day 1: Welcome aboard! Meet your Captain and ISA guide. Enjoy a specially prepared dinner aboard your floating home as the sun sets over the Mediterranean Sea.
Port: Porto Mangia Volpe-La Maddalena, Sardinia
Day 2: Exploration of the protected National Park of La Maddalena; an archipelago consisting of seven untouched islands full of beautiful beaches, coves and Mediterranean vegetation and rock formation. Arrival to Bonifacio, Corsica; with enormous white and wind washed cliffs, this is a sight that will remain in your memory book forever!
Port: Port de Bonifacio
Day 3-4: Sailing up western coast to Corsica's capital city, Ajaccio. City tour of Ajaccio, visit to National Bonapart Museum or Fesch Museum, hike to Isle Sanguinaires, delights in the bustling coffee shops and restaurants and the lively squares of historical significance.
Port: Port d'Ajaccio
Day 4: Cruising up to the quaint bay and secluded town of Giorlata. Hike around the bays cliffy coast, swim in the crystal waters, eat, drink and be merry to life's delights.
Port: Port de Girolata
Day 5-6: Sailing and exploration of Propriano; a port rebuilt in the 1900's after numerous pirate raids. More fun under the sun as sails are up taking us back to Bonifacio. Visit the citadel, chapel of St. Roch and tiny streets that weave in and out of this historical little village.
Port: Port de Propriano and Port de Bonifacio
Day 7-8: Rounding around and up the eastern coast stopping in bays for snorkeling and swimming. Visit to Porto Vecchio originally established by the Greeks in 383. Now considered one of the most distinguished harbors in Europe.
Port: Port de Porto-Vecchio and Gulf of Santa-Manza
Day 9: Sailing the waterways connecting Corsica and Sardinia. Leaving the route in the hands of our Captain and guided by the winds, enjoy the smell of the sea, the sway of its waters and the warmth of the sun.
Port: Porto Mangia Volpe- La Maddalena, Sardinia
Day 10: Sip on a frothy Italian cappuccino in Piazza Umberto before departing at 10:00 for Olbia International Airport.
